With this excel program we can estimate the magnitude of different cooling sources in an incubator.
The heat production of the embryos (dependent on the number of fertile embryos and the stage of incubation) needs to be removed by
- air exchange of the machine (depending on the difference in energy content of incoming and outgoing air times air volume)
- cooling by cooling water (depending on difference in temperature between incoming and outgoing cooling water times water volume)
- evaporative heat loss (depending on the evaporation of the water sprayed in the machine by the moisturizer)
the evaporative heat loss of the eggs (the evaporation of the moisture loss) is neglected in this calculation, as it is a constant factor.
